English Lessons: Noun + To Be + Noun
The nouns are words that name things. Some common nouns include those used for countries, food, animals, languages, cities and countries.
We use Noun + To Be + Noun, when we are explaining things:
- Spanish is a language.
- Eagle is a bird.
Use "IS" between the two singular nouns.
- Paris is a city.
- France is a country.
- Europe is a continent.

- ##check## Articles Nouns:
- 'AN' or 'A' are articles. In English we normally use it before singular nouns.
We use "AN" before a word that begins with a vowel.
Vowels: A, E, I, O, U.
Consonants: B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z.
For example:
A pineapple is a fruit (A before consonant)
A cat is an animal. (AN before vowel)
Scoot is an airline. (AN before vowel)
Plural Noun + Are + Plural Noun
Singular Noun + IS + Singular Noun
Remember: that we do not use an article (AN /A ) with a plural noun.
For example:
A cat is an animal. (singular)
Cats are animals. (plural)
Italian is a language. (singular)
English and Italian are languages. (plural)
